TM Camborne

TM Camborne

TM Camborne, part of Phase Two of Transforming Mission, are finding creative ways to connect with the community. These include pitching gazebos in popular locations to create pop-ups and outreach events as well as strengthening connections with local schools and family hubs. In this way, they hope to reach more young people and single parents.

Encouraging confidence in faith

Momentum is growing through teaching, supporting and encouraging congregations be more confident in expressing their own Christian faith. This really helps when it comes to identifying and training new leaders, an important step to establishing rural hubs. Such rural hubs will be in larger villages, within existing churches, schools, pubs and family centres.

Camborne has a reputation for traditional churches, brass bands and miner’s choirs. This can present challenges to building up trust in something new, but to read how they are overcoming this, click on the image above or continue reading here.

TM Camborne Update

Phase Two of Transforming Mission

TM Camborne is part of phase two of Transforming Mission. Like all the other TM locations – Falmouth, Truro, St Austell and Liskeard – it has been chosen for the high population in the town and surrounding parishes.

Camborne is undergoing major growth through housing developments. But, defined as within 10% of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the UK, it is home to significant populations of vulnerable children and young families. Consequently, the team are very keen to listen, to find meaningful ways to work effectively into these difficult life circumstances.

TM Camborne is following the strategy of creating ‘resourcing churches’ to deliver outreach projects that revitalise existing church communities. In this way, learnings are shared, resources created and surrounding parishes benefit.

All the TM locations are learning from each other. They are applying and adapting their collective learning to their very individual settings, to grow pioneering and prayerful ministers.
