The Readers’ Annual Service was very different this year being entirely online using ZOOM.  It proved to be a heart-warming and thought-provoking experience with much joyous chat both before and afterwards.

Bishop Hugh led the service. Roy Cooper from the Callington Cluster was licensed and Bishop Hugh reaffirmed the licenses of those who had been able to attend the small service in Truro Cathedral the week before. Two Readers Chris Clark and Michael Waring, who have moved into the diocese were also welcomed.

Liz Lane, who was licensed as a Reader last year preached the sermon and new Reader Roy Cooper led the intercessions.

As well as recognising the work of Readers over the last year and remembering the two Readers who died – Graham Hindle and Lesley Boyden – it was also an opportunity to honour those Readers who, through varying circumstances, are no longer ministering.
