Shelley’s Story
I came to faith gradually, beginning as a child at a Church of England primary school, Sunday School, with RAF parents who moved around a great deal who chose their church by the best provision provided for their 4 children. I had an eclectic Christian upbringing both in the churches we attended and at home; denomination meant little. As a teenager I became a ‘Covenanter’ and after yet another move, I attended the local church youth club which led to confirmation in the Church of England. I became really engaged with my faith after I joined the WRAF and attended many RAF church groups, despite being a shift worker, in my late teens onwards. The person who had most influence on the development of my faith was a Scot, sadly I can’t remember his name, who gave me a Bible when I had inadvertently left mine at home after a short notice posting! I’ve still got it!
