St Mary’s Singers, the voluntary choir of Truro Cathedral, performs music composed during the early twentieth century including Elgar’s Nimrod and Great is the Lord, Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens and Finzi’s Lo, the Full, Final Sacrifice. The works performed in this concert contain powerful and moving music that was created in a time of despair and anguish but which also have a positive mood of healing and peace. The conductor will be Simon Jacobs and the organist Käthe Kaufmann.
