Net Zero 2030 series: Cut Carbon, Cut Costs workshops
The Diocese of Truro is running a series of five workshops on the theme of Net Zero 2030: Cut Carbon, Cut Costs. The series is a mix of online and in-person sessions. You are welcome to join us for one, some or all of the series. Please book each workshop separately.
Overview
Our third workshop of the series builds on session two, as we get to grips with the question of how we achieve Net Zero 2030 carbon within our church buildings. We will explore the key ‘dos and don’ts’ and consider what changes are right for each of our buildings. This session will have representatives of the DAC and a RIBA Conservation Architect present.

Our previous workshop on 23rd March was a lively and highly informative event full of enthusiasm, energy and ideas. Many thanks to St Andrew’s in Redruth for hosting it, and to the more-than-thirty people who came along and took part. We look forward to seeing you again – and to meeting new net zero champions – in Wadebridge in May!
As Matt Fulford, who advises the Church of England on its net zero strategy, said at our march event, “the Church has done quite huge amount in a very short space of time. Don’t think it’s impossible. This can be done. It’s not difficult to do. It can be done with today’s technologies. It is being done.”
Or, in the words of Ben Lillie, environment officer at the Diocese of Truro, “here are churches demonstrating what it means to cherish creation, to cut carbon and to speak up.”
Ensuring that children and young people as well as adults are kept safe whilst in our care is an integral part of our diocese life.
