Lay Ministry to be celebrated with service
Over 200 Local Worship Leaders and Local Pastoral Ministers will gather at Truro Cathedral on Saturday, March 18, for a service to celebrate Lay Ministry.
The service will include 13 Local Worship Leaders and 13 Local Pastoral Ministers who will be commissioned for the first time, eight new Local Lay Leaders who have graduated from the Sens Kernewek Leadership training and six new Lay Pioneer Leaders.
While Bishop Philip will be giving the sermon, the service will be focusing on Luke 10: 1-23 Jesus sending out the 72 disciples. Representatives from all four lay ministries will have an input into the service.
Those being commissioned for the first time will receive certificates and a holding cross and all will be able to renew their commitment to the roles at the end of the service. Bishop Philip will also be inviting people forward for anointing before they leave.
It is hoped families, friends and the wider church family will attend the service to support and celebrate their Lay Ministers.
The service takes place at Truro Cathedral on March 18 from 11am. All are welcome to attend.
