Revd Heather Aston and Associate Priest Revd Paul Spreadbridge have only been in their posts since the beginning of April but this did not affect the Easter celebrations at Saint Denis Church, Otterham.

Saint Denis Church, which is joined in the parish by Lesnewth, St Michael & All Angels and St Juliot, St Julitta, held an Easter picnic on Easter Monday which brought together 30 – 4o people from the local community and raised over £170.

The Easter picnic was popular with all ages and included picnic packages supplied by the church, cream teas, cakes and refreshments.

Games included an Easter quiz, an egg and spoon race, a ‘sweets in the jar’ competition and a raffle.

Church Warden Mike Titchen was pleased with how the event went:

“It was a great day for all the family.”

The money raised will go towards refurbishment of the vestry roof as well as a new kitchen and an outside toilet.
