Nightstop is a new project being set up to help young people who are in danger of becoming homeless.

The project seeks volunteers who might be prepared to offer a young person Bed and Breakfast and an evening meal for between one and three nights.

The scheme has been validated by De Paul UK and it will be run in partnership with St Petrocs Society who will assess all potential clients and will work with the young person during the day to address the issues that the young person is facing.

A typical client would be a young person from a home where a new step parent has arrived and this has created conflict and where a cooling off period with some reconciliation training can make all the difference.

Andrew Yates, Social Responsibility Officer for the Diocese of Truro says: “We are making a first pitch for volunteers to local churches as we are confident that there are congregation members who may be willing to be part of this ministry.”
