Audience of 100 enjoy Meet the Funders event
Nearly 100 people from across Cornwall have enjoyed the annual Meet the Funders event in Liskeard which was jointly hosted by the Diocese of Truro and Transformation Cornwall.
While open to everyone, the event was specifically aimed at faith groups and included speakers from Joseph Rank Trust, Viridor Credits, Church Urban Fund, Lloyds Foundation, Cornwall Historic Churches Trust and Heritage Lottery Fund.
Presentations during the morning were interspersed with short videos of successful projects and found to be a great encouragement to all. Local Funder Cornwall Community Foundation were also in attendance and offered one to one advice on their various funding streams.
During the afternoon there was the opportunity for 60 people to attend workshops on the topics of Making a Good Funding Application, Making an Application to Heritage Lottery Fund and Completing a Budget for a Funding Application. One to one funding advice was also available for those unable to secure a place on a workshop.
The repeated popularity of these events demonstrates that there is a significant need for support in this area and this event was fully booked within a few weeks of it being announced. For those who were unable to attend but would like a copy of the presentations from the morning session please email Rosey Sanders on Rosey.Sanders@transformation-cornwall.org.uk
Several funders in attendance have requested to return to offer workshop style support to interested groups so please look out for details of future events.
There are videos available from the day. These can be found out on the links below:
