Dotted on the western banks of the River Fal and its tributaries, the three parishes that comprise the Waterside Benefice are set in the Central South Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Parts also fall within The Cornish Mining World Heritage Site recognising how the industry has shaped today’s context.  This rich landscape is popular with visitors and despite the number of second homes, continues to benefit from thriving local communities.

The new Priest in Charge with oversight responsibilities of the Waterside Benefice will be someone who wants to be part of our deanery plans and team and who will work with the Waterside Benefice churches towards our vision in their own communities.

We hope to achieve this by working together more closely in:

  • Mission – strengthening our congregations, growing our churches and taking our faith into the community.
  • Children’s Work – building on the welcome of local schools and such initiatives as Messy Church and Creative Writing. Re-establishing vibrant youth work.
  • Pastoral – training and development of pastoral teams and building on the pastoral work and care already in place.
