St Julitta’s Church Open Day

17th February 2018 @ 11:00 am - 4:30 pm

Join us at St Julitta’s Church for an open day on Saturday the 17th of February. This open day will show case the fascinating history and heritage of the church. This includes an illustrated talk at 11:30am and 2pm on Captain Samuel Wallis who was baptised in the church in 1728 and later circumnavigated the world discovering many islands in the pacific. The churches organist will give demonstrations of how amazing the organ can sound and you can view our unusual early pagan symbol that occurs in many places around the church.

Refreshments and guided tours will be available throughout the day and you will be able to view the rare and exceptional medieval stained glass that has somehow survived and soak up the atmosphere of this historic place with its nearby Holy Well, iron age rounds and ancient deer park. As part of the Heritage Lottery backed restoration project you will also be able to sign a slate to be incorporated in the new roof for centuries to come!
