Join us at St Mary’s Church, Penzance for a concert of gorgeous music by one of England’s greatest composers – Henry Purcell.
You will hear trumpets, oboes, recorders, bassoon, strings plus 8 professional singers (sopranos, countertenors, tenors and basses) in a range of stunning and tuneful arias that plunge the full range of emotions. The works include ‘Come Ye Sons of Art’ and ‘Welcome to All the Pleasures’ as well as a rarity – the ‘Yorkshire Feast Song’ and a concluding Chaconne in which – true to our tradition – the audience will be invited to join in dancing.
Tickets are £10 per person and will be on sale at the door but can also be reserved through Dr Russell Blacker (c.v.r.blacker@btinternet.com). Tickets can also be purchased online at crbo.co.uk/purcell or phone 01726 879500. They can also be bought at the following outlets – Tourist offices in Penzance, St Ives, Falmouth, Truro, St Austell, Heartlands (Pool, Redruth).
Refreshments are available and there is plenty of parking below the church.
