with Revd Canon Dr Stephen Dawes
In this session we will look closely at the well-known and beautifully crafted opening chapter of Genesis. Why are there so many different, and sometimes downright contradictory, translations of the opening verses? What does the creation of humanity ‘in the image of God’ mean? What about that ‘us’ and ‘our’ of verse 26? What about the patterns and choruses? Bring as many Bibles as you’ve got and we’ll compare, contrast and explore.
Stephen is a retired Methodist minister and the Canon Theologian of Truro Cathedral.
