CMED Course – Ecology and Your Church

13th May 2016 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

with Revd Andrew Yates

“For the Church of the 21st century, good ecology is not an optional extra but a matter of justice. It is therefore central to what it means to be a Christian.”  Dr Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Church of England remains committed to a carbon reduction target of 80% by 2050, with an interim target of 42% by 2020.  Leading up to Environment Sunday this study day will offer advice and suggestions on how this might be achieved in your church with examples of good practice around the county.  Environment Issues go much wider than carbon reduction so we will also be looking at Living Churchyards, Creation Liturgies and other resources.

Andrew is the Diocesan Social Responsibility Officer and Priest in the Penlee Cluster.
