The Safeguarding annual conference will this year provide an opportunity to hear from victims, survivors, and experts on how the Church can implement a Trauma Informed Response.
The free conference will take place at Truro Cathedral on Monday, March 18 from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
It is hoped that Parish Safeguarding Officers, churchwardens, clergy, ordinands, lay leaders, as well as diocesan and cathedral staff and volunteers will take part alongside professional partners from other agencies. The conference will draw on lessons from evolving responses in schools and within responses to domestic abuse.
Throughout March and on the day of the conference there will be the opportunity for you to add your thoughts, prayers and views to the Loud Fence in the cathedral.
Rebecca Evans, Ministry & Parish Development Officer, talks to Jo Douglas, Trauma Theologian and PHD Candidate, about her research into trauma-informed theology on our new podcast.
