Sarah Robinson has joined the Diocesan Safeguarding Team as Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officer – Cathedral.

Sarah moved to Cornwall from Hampshire to embrace new beginnings and be closer to family in January this year.

Sarah brings 18 years of progressive police experience, including three years as a police detective, to the diocese and cathedral. She spent eight and half years working within Operation Amberstone – a unit that specialises in investigating the most serious sexual offences, securing evidence, interviewing high risk suspects, managing caseloads, court cases and supporting victims through trauma. Sarah has also had the opportunity to work alongside the Hampshire Police major crime team and support them with several high-profile murder investigations.

Sarah said: “After a very diverse police career, and with a recently discovered faith, I felt it was time to prioritise family life in a role that offered a better work/life balance; when I saw this role I really felt it was the perfect fit for where I am in both my career and my faith journey.

“I am really looking forward to making some positive changes within the cathedral and supporting the community and especially victims and survivors.”

When not working, Sarah is a passionate horse rider, loves chasing after her young boys, embracing the ocean and beach walks.
