A Redruth church is enjoying success after introducing a new family friendly service called Bubble Church.

St Andrew’s Church members have seen a number of young families taking part in the 30-minute service which includes puppets, songs and story time. Each family are invited to sit on their own ‘bubble’ – a space especially marked out for them – where they can take part in sessions.

There are also pastries, coffee and refreshments available.

The free to attend service is designed to be ‘full of energy’ and takes place on the first Sunday of the month at 11am.

Redruth’s Bubble Church has been awarded £3,153.88 from Funds For Mission – a funding pot from Diocese of Truro to help encourage and support parishes in their missions.

Jonny Lewis, Diocese of Truro’s Growing Younger Lead, said: “Bubble Church offers worshipping communities a brilliant platform to welcome families from the local community into a space of welcome and adventure.

“It can also help embed and nurture multiple foundations of our Growing Younger framework, develop intergenerational expressions of engagement, as well as invest in the spiritual formation of children – which has never been more important.”

Bubble Church is a national initiative which takes place in a number of places in the country. Redruth is one of the first towns in Cornwall running the event.
