Recognised for ‘outstanding’ care of employees’ health and wellbeing.
The Diocese of Truro has been given an award for ‘outstanding initiatives to promote employee health and wellbeing’.
Officials from Duchy Health Charity presented the awards to a number of organisations in Cornwall at its Health and Wellbeing conference at the Royal Cornwall Showground Pavilion Centre.
More than 100 people attended the one-day conference, which launched Duchy Health Charity’s series of new initiatives to improve health and wellbeing across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, highlighting the importance of health and wellbeing in the workplace.
Rebecca St Ledger-Renfree, HR Coordinator at the Diocese of Truro, was presented with the award on behalf of Diocese of Truro. Other winners included The National Trust, Cornwall Council and St Petroc’s.
During the day, the event covered different aspects of ‘working well’ and what is needed to promote health and wellbeing, prevent health problems arising in the workplace and how to support people in work with health conditions.
Rebecca said: “It was great to be invited and to be a part of the Working Well event hosted by Duchy Health Charity. The day celebrated different organisations across Cornwall working towards promoting health and wellbeing amongst their employees.
“It was really inspiring to hear different organisations sharing their ideas on how they are helping promote wellbeing.
“I was so happy we received the award.”
Louise Court, Director of HR at Diocese of Truro, said: “We believe the wellbeing of our staff and clergy is at the heart of our organisation values and culture, and try hard to be innovative in our work on this.
“I am really pleased that this has been recognised by the Duchy Health Charity.”
The certificate is now placed on display on the mezzanine at the Diocese of Truro offices.
Professor Anthony Woolf, Trustee of Duchy Health Charity and keynote speaker, said: “The conference communicated what good practice looks like and showcased examples from across Cornwall, with awards presented to exemplar initiatives.
“It was an opportunity for employers, not for profit organisations, social and community groups, and Councils etc., to share their challenges and demonstrate their achievements and ambitions in the areas of improving health and wellbeing for people of working age.”
