Cake, cuppas and crafts were the order of the day at the Truro Christian Aid Group coffee morning for Christian Aid Week 2025.

HostePeople Sat on a bench enjoying the Coffee morning.d by Sue and Barry Pettit, with help from volunteers from St George’s Church, the event was in support of the work of the charity’s local partners, empowering vulnerable communities to find practical and sustainable ways out of poverty.

Sue explained: “We enjoy getting together with friends and neighbours for our coffee morning with stalls selling all kinds of goods and a raffle.People stood on a lawn looking at a stall with Christian Aid flags.

“It was well supported, the weather was mostly dry and we raised £1,034.70.”

This year’s appeal focused on work in Guatemala, in Central America, where climate change is causing the seasons to intensify and shift erratically. Water sources are drying up and vital crops are failing, plunging farming families into hunger and poverty.
