A glimpse of something beyond this earthly life at the Crantock Chamber of Music Series
What began as a Come and Sing event for primary aged children in June, has become, at the end of this month, a whole week of music that will fill the St Carantoc Church during the Crantock Chamber of Music Series 2018.
Come and Sing was a fantastic community event that introduced children to the joys of music. They worked together for six weeks and then performed a short re-telling of Noah and the Flood that was written by local parishioner Bec Matthews. At the end, one of the mums asked if she could arrange a concert in the church and this week-long celebration of chamber music is the result.
Go along from August 27th to September 1st and lose yourself in the beautiful music of the Crantock Chamber of Music Series 2018 at St Carantoc Church, Crantock.
Revd Canon Anne Brown of the Atlantic Coast Cluster thinks it’s wonderful to have the church space used in this way, “Why not? Churches should be used by the community in which they stand , and this would appear to be a wonderful use. Also music offers I believe a glimpse of something beyond this earthy life.”
The series of recitals are all free but there will be a retiring collection for The Wave Project and the church.
