Remembrance Services 2016
A range of Remembrance Services will be taking place throughout the Diocese of Truro, here are just some of them:
11th November – Germoe Parish – 11am – Remembrance Service will take place at the War Memorial on Tregonning Hill
11th November – Ladock Church – 10.30am – Act of Remembrance with Ladock School then moving onto the monument for 11am.
11th November – Lands End Benefice – St Buryan War Memorial – 10.45am – Act of Remembrance with two minute’s silence
11th November – Parish of Kenwyn with St Allen – 10.50am – Act of Remembrance at Kenwyn War Memorial, Knights Hill, Truro, followed by tea and coffee in the hall (Lychgate Schoolroom)
11th November – Mawnan Memorial Hall – 10.45am – Remembrance Service with laying of wreaths at the millennium cross with Mawnan School Band.
11th November – St Agnes Church – 10.50am – Service in the Parish Church with the British Legion
11th November – St Cuby, Duloe and All Saints, Herodsfoot – 11am – Remembrance Service at Herodsfoot War Memorial
11th November – St Germans Group Parish – 10.45am – Remembrance Day Service at Downderry and Hessenford War Memorials
11th November – St Gerrans – 10.50am – Remembrance observance with the school
11th November – St Nun, Pelynt – 11am – Gather at the Church War Memorial to lay wreaths in memory of the fallen
12th November – Cluster Parishes of St Michael’s Newquay with St Columb Minor and St Colan – 10.55am – Armistice Day Commemorations at Newquay War Memorial and St Columb Minor Church
13th November – Tregony with St Cuby Church – A service will be held outdoors in the village square at 10.30am and will have the local schools and scout group in attendance. The last post will be played by 11 year old Chloe Hargreaves who attedns the local school.
13th November – St Just-in-Penwith Parish Church – 10.45am – Act of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial, Bank Square, followed by a parade from Market Street to the War Memorial where they will be joined by the Clergy and Choir of St Just Parish Church. The Clergy, Choir and Parade will process to the Parish Church for the Remembrance Sunday Service led by the Reverend Karsten Wedgewood with the Archdeacon of Cornwall, the Venerable Bill Stuart-White MA preaching.
13th November – St Philleigh Church – 10.30am – Remembrance Service.
13th November – St Petroc’s Church Padstow – 10.50am – Service of Remembrance followed by wreath laying Padstow War Memorial Chapel Stile Field.
13th November – St Luke’s, Parish of Boscoppa, St Austell – 11am – Remembrance Sunday service, Sung Eucharist
13th November – Ladock Church – 10.50am – Remembrance Service
13th November – St Erme Church – 2.30pm, Remembrance Service followed by tea in the village hall
13th November – All Saints Church, Marazion (combined service with Marazion Methodist Church) – 10.45am – Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial, 11am – Service of Remembrance at the Chapel. 4pm – St Hilary’s Church, Taize form of service centering on peace

13th November – All Saints, Millbrook – 2.30pm – Annual Parish Service of Remembrance and then process to the Village Cenotaph for the service of wreath laying.

13th November – St Mawes Memorial Hall – 10.45am – Remembrance Sunday Memorial Service with an Act of Remembrance outside the hall, followed by the Memorial Service indoors.

13th November – St Wyllow, Lateglos-by-Fowey – 10.40am – Remembrance Day Service and Act of Remembrance
13th November – Helland Church near Bodmin – 10.55am – Remembrance at the memorial followed by a short service in the Church with dramatic readings, prayers, hymns done by village community (coffee in the church at 10.30am)
13th November – Herodsfoot All Saints Church – 11am – Remembrance Service at the village memorial
13th November – St Melor’s in Churchtown (Linkinhorne village) – 10.30am – Entering into a time of Remembrance. The names of those from the Parish who died in the two World Wars are read out and honoured, the Service will also include a time of dedication for the Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
13th November – St Peter’s Church, Mevagissey – 9.45am – Remembrance Service followed by a walk to the War Memorial for a short ceremony.
13th November – St. Eval Parish Church in the United Benefice of Lann Pydar – 10.45am – Remembrance Service
13th November – St John ‘s Pensilva – 10.50 – Wreath-laying ceremony at Millennium House followed by a Remembrance Service in St John’s Church.

13th November – Rame Peninsula – 8am Holy Communion at All Saint’s Millbrook, 9am Sung Eucharist at St John’s in St John followed by Wreath Laying at St John War Memorial, 10.50am Wreath Laying at Maker War Memorial followed by Remembrance Service at Maker Church and Wreath Laying at Cawsand War Memorial, 3pm Remembrance Service at All Saints Millbrook followed by Wreath Laying at Millbrook War Memorial.
13th November – St Bartholomew’s Lostwithiel – 10.50am – Civic Remembrance Service
13th November – St Michaels’ Landrake – 10am – Normal service ending with an act of remembrance around the village war memorial, accompanied by the village brass band.
13th November – Maker with Rame – 10.50am – Remembrance Parade and laying of wreaths at Maker War Memorial followed by Remembrance Service at Maker Church
13th November – Maker with Rame – 12pm – Laying of wreaths at Cawsand War Memorial
13th November – St John the Baptist Church, Mount Hawke – 10.50am – Remembrance Sunday service at the War Memorial, for prayers and the Silence, and then into church for a non-Eucharistic service, shared with the Methodist congregation.
13th November – Week St Mary Circle of Parishes – 10.45am – Poundstock War Memorial then Royal British Legion’s Service of Remembrance at the church, 10.50am – Week St Mary Square then service at the church, 11am – Whitsone War Memorial, 12pm – Warbstow War Memorial, 3pm – St Genny Church
13th November – Week St Mary Circle of Parishes – The Church of Our Lady & St Anne at Widemouth Bay and St James’ Church at Jabobstow will include an Act of Remembrance in their normal Sunday Service. They will also offer an opportunity for those across the Benefice who wish to receive the Sacrament (8am Widemouth Bay Holy Communion, 9.30am Jacobstow Church Morning Prayer)
13th November – Lands End Benefice – 9.30am Service of the Word at St Levan Church followed by an Act of Remembrance at 11am at Polgigga War Memorial, 10am Eucharist Service in St Buryan, 10.45am Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial followed by a Eucharist Service in Sennen Church. Coffee will be served afterwards in St Buryan and Sennen Church and at the Cricket Pavillion at Polgigga.
