Diocesan Synod this Saturday (May 2)
The last diocesan Synod of this Triennium will take place at County Hall, Truro on Saturday (May 2).
With refreshments from 9.15am, the meeting will begin with worship and the Presidential Address by the Bishop of Truro, The Rt Revd Tim Thornton.
This will then be followed by the Annual General Meeting of the Truro Diocesan Board of Finance Limited to receive and approve reports including the Annual Report for 2014. Among the other items to be discussed will be proposals for the future of the Mission and Ministry Fund.
In the afternoon, the Synod will meet as members of the Truro Diocesan Synod for a General Synod update on the programme of reform and renewal, a report on the work of the Bishop’s Diocesan Council and the Diocesan Synod Elections and General Synod Elections.
The meeting will end with closing prayers.
While the meeting is open to Synod members only, the public are welcome to attend with seating available in the public gallery.

• There will be two further meetings of the Diocesan Synod in 2015, the first on Saturday, September 26 at County Hall, Truro and the second on Saturday, November 7 at the same venue.
