Generous givers donate more in 2025
Generous givers have donated a flabbergasting £12,779.04 to the 2025 Cornish Christmas Giving Catalogue – that’s over £1,500 more than the year before.
Over the festive season people were encouraged to think about donating to one or more of the 20 local groups and charities featured in the catalogue.
Now, after weeks of careful sums, the Diocese of Truro’s finance team are pleased to announce the huge figure – which
is the net total of all donations given to the different causes.
In 2024 the net total was £11,260.6 – meaning people have donated an extra £1,518.37 to the most recent catalogue.
Rosey Sanders, Operations and Project Assistant at the diocese, said: “It never ceases to amaze me how generous the people of Cornwall are when there is a need.
“Each donation given to the Cornish Christmas Giving Catalogue 2025 is an act of kindness which reflects a deep commitment to caring for one another.
“Thank you to you wonderful people for your generosity; your actions will make a real impact on individual lives going forward.”
Paul Philips, Social Responsibility Officer at the diocese, said: “The overall amount raised from the Cornish Christmas Giving Catalogue is fantastic.
“I’m so grateful to all who donated and look forward to raising even more for worthy causes next year.”
The catalogue, which included messages from The Rt Revd David Williams, Bishop of Truro, and Clinton Cameron Sealy Jnr., Operations Director at Transformation Cornwall, gave people the chance to donate as much or as little as they would like. Items listed range from £5, for things such as art supplies, up to £90 for therapy sessions.
