People in the diocese wanting to pioneer new Christian communities in their area are being invited to ‘empowering’ training sessions this new year, 2026.

The Revd Mark Wade from St Martins, Liskeard, and Lindsey Morgan Lundie, Pioneer Network Facilitator for the Diocese of Truro, are offering three sessions in South-East Cornwall during 2026 to help teach, connect and equip people to make a difference in their community.Two people stood in front of a brick wall with roof and spire. Whether interested in pioneering, children, families and young people work, social action, fresh expressions, or want to see parish churches thrive – then the Greenhouse course has it covered.

The first session starts on Wednesday, January 14, and will provide learning and practical steps to bring mission ideas to life and provide community and encouragement.

Michael Moynagh, a key voice in developing Greenhouse as a resource to listen, love, build community, share faith, and develop church, will be at the January event.

Revd Mark Wade said he has seen how Greenhouse can transform churches’ understanding of mission in his previous post.

He added: “Starting Greenhouse in South East Cornwall will be a real boost for our churches outreach into the community and will empower people to start and sustain new mission initiatives.

“During my time in Wigan, we saw ordinary churchgoers become empowered disciples.”

Lindsey Morgan Lundie, said: “Pioneering and creating opportunities for new contextual faith-based communities to develop is becoming a significant part of the Church here in Cornwall.

“Greenhouse is a great way to gather like-minded people and to inspire and build confidence in others, to allow all to follow where the Holy Spirit is leading to encourage and enable pioneering.”

Greenhouse takes place on January 14, April 29 and September 16 and will be hosted by St Martin’s Liskeard. People can choose from two time slots: 12.20pm – 2.30pm or 7pm – 9pm.
