Youth workers invited to Lambeth Palace for afternoon tea
Two youth workers from the diocese have been invited to London today (July 8) for afternoon tea as a thank you for all they do.
Becky Lines, TM Children’s and Families’ Leader from Camborne, and Hannah Levett, Youth Lead & All Age Worship Coordinator from Liskeard, have accepted the invitation to Lambeth Palace, home of Archbishop of Canterbury.
The afternoon tea is part of Recognise Week, created by Church of England to celebrate all those involved in the children’s and young people ministry within the church.
Becky has worked in the diocese for many years and has been involved in a number of initiatives including Wild Church, Teatimes for Families, summer holiday clubs and more.
She said: “I am feeling really pleased that what we do in Camborne is worth celebrating; my role is very diverse and I don’t know if it is making any impact so it was a real bonus to be asked to attend this event.
“I am looking forward to seeing Lambeth Palace. Being very shy (these days known as social anxiety) I hope I can put that aside and enjoy what has been put together as it looks like it is going to be a great afternoon.”
Guest speaker at the event will be Sarah Yardley.
Recognise Week runs from July 7–13 and on Sunday 13 churches across the county will be celebrating those who work in the ministry with children, young people, and their families.
