This year’s Creation Care celebration service was held at St Andrew’s Church in Redruth with the theme “Restore nature now: an authentic call for action”.

Those attending were welcomed to the church by Revd Becca Bell, the new vicar of Redruth, before a service which saw music from St Kea Church’s band and a sermon from Bishop Hugh Nelson.

The service was well attended and interactive – those present were asked to do two things: write a thank you on a leaf for something in creation and hang it on a tree in the church and, write sorry for something that was contrary to caring for creation and chuck it in a fire bucket.

During the service 26 churches that have this year achieved a Kernow Green Church Award or an Eco Church Award were recognised, and certificates were presented to representatives from the churches.

After the service there was time for those present to gather over refreshments and talk.
