Truro Cathedral was full over the weekend for a service to celebrate Lay Ministry.

Local Worship Leaders and Local Pastoral Ministers gathered at the Cathedral alongside Local Lay Leaders who have recently graduated from the Sens Kernewek Leadership training and Lay Pioneer Leaders.

Bishop Philip gave the sermon for the service which focused on Luke 10: 1-23 – Jesus sending out the 72 disciples. Representatives from all four lay ministries played a part in the service.

Those being commissioned for the first time received certificates and a holding cross and all were able to renew their commitment to the roles at the end of the service. A number of people also came forward at the end for anointing by Bishop Philip, Bishop Hugh, and Archdeacon Kelly.
