The Truro Diocesan Synod will take place on Saturday, November 19 at Holy Trinity Church, St Austell under the theme ‘A Church that is Good News for the poor’.

This third and last meeting of the year will see Readers leading the opening worship before Bishop Philip takes to the floor to give his Presidential Address.

Members will then hear a presentation on A Church that is Good News for the poor which will include a report on the use of the Lowest Income Communities Funding.

Over the last few weeks work has been undertaken on the Diocesan Plan. This work has been necessary to ensure the diocesan work supports the work of the 12 deanery plans. During November’s synod meeting, members will receive an update on the diocesan plan.

The last business of the morning will be a short session to note the paper regarding Deanery Synod Lay Representation for 2023 – 2026.

Following lunch, those gathered will sit under the General Meeting of the Truro Diocesan Board of Finance (TDBF) Ltd to hear a presentation on the 2023 TDBF budget. Members will then be asked to vote on the budget’s approval.

As in previous meetings, members are able to attend via Zoom.
