Petertide Ordinations to return to Truro Cathedral
In a sign that we may be learning to live with Covid, the 2021 Petertide Ordinations will return to Truro Cathedral later this month.
Two services will be held on Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26 to ordain six people as deacons and eight people as priests.
The Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen, Bishop of Truro, will lead the deacon service with the Bishop of St Germans, The Rt Revd Hugh Nelson leading the service for priests.
Among those being made a deacon this year are husband and wife David and Hannah Baylor and coastguard Tom Ebbens. You can read more about all those being made deacon on the diocesan website here.
Having had their deacon services held locally last year with the majority of people watching online, this year will be the first time the eight being priested will experience the service in the splendour of the cathedral.
Those being ordained as a priest:
The Revd Laura Michelle Bushell Hawke serving as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in the Benefice of St Germans with Antony & Sheviock.
The Revd Carol Edleston serving as Self-Supporting Assistant Curate in the Benefice of St Austell.
The Revd Helen Davies serving as Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Launceston and in the Benefice of Boyton, North Tamerton, Werrington, St Giles-in-the-Heath & Virginstow.
The Revd Nicola Farr serving as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Launceston.
The Revd Patrick Andrew Gilbert serving as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in the Benefice of All Saints Highertown and Baldhu.
The Revd Paul William Salaman serving as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Probus, Ladock, Grampound with Creed and St Erme.
The Revd Christine Schmaus serving as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Helston and Wendron and the United Benefice of West Kerrier.
The Revd Robin James Thwaites serving as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in The Camelside Benefice.

Thomas Ebbens to serve as Self-Supporting Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Constantine, the Benefice of Helston and Wendron and the Deanery of Kerrier.
Michael Molano to serve as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in the Benefice of St Austell.
Lesley Jane Selman to serve as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Menheniot, the Benefice of St Cleer and the Benefice of St Ive and Pensilva with Quethiock.
Sophie Marion Vannesa Troczynska to serve as Stipendiary Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Ludgvan, Marazion, St Hilary and Perranuthnoe.
Friday’s service will start at 7.30pm and Saturday’s service will start at 10.30am. Normal Covid-Safe restrictions apply.
