The Maundy Thursday Chrism service scheduled to be held in Truro Cathedral today was, of course, postponed.

But while the diocese’s clergy and readers could not be anointed in person, those who were able did the next best thing and joined a video conferencing service during which they reaffirmed their vows.

Around 170 clergy and readers joined the event, from all around the diocese.

Bishop Philip said: “We are each called to dig deep at a time such as this, and I certainly found it helpful and uplifting to reaffirm my vows in fellowship with so many wonderful and committed people.”
