The Church of England is committed to work among the poorest communities in the UK.

On February 22, our parishes are asked to join together in using the prayer below. It has been written to celebrate the anniversary of the General Synod motion on Estates Evangelism.

The Rt Revd Philip North, Lead Bishop for Estates Evangelism, is asking all parishes to mark the anniversary by including the prayer in services or for use individually.

The prayer

Faithful God,

your compassion embraces all people.

Renew your church in service of the urban estates of our nation;

that anointed by your Spirit we may bear witness to your power to heal and save,

and the transforming love revealed in your Son,

Jesus Christ our Lord.
