Many turn out to consider their calling from God
Around 50 people attended the presentations and group sessions at this year’s Vocations Day inTruro Cathedral, with more popping in to browse.
Director of Ministry for the Diocese of Truro, Jonathan Rowe, said: “It was a very good day, we enjoyed meeting lots of people and had many interesting and stimulating conversations.
“Of course, as well as those who came and spoke with us on the day and with whom we will remain in contact, there were others who came along for a quicker look and who we hope we will see again in future.
“There may well also be those who heard about the day and who have just begun to consider that God might be calling them to explore a vocation with the church, and we very much look forward to meeting them soon.”
The day included panel discussions and presentations from various people including Bishop Chris, Revd Jeremy Putnam who talked about Young Vocations, Lee Chantler who spoke on about his experience of training to become a Vicar, and a panel discussion with people from different areas of the church.
“This was our very first Vocations Day and we are really pleased with how it went; we will certainly look to hold the event next year,” added Dr Rowe.
