Prayer from Bishop Tim after Finsbury attack
We wake up to more death and terror on the streets of London. Our hearts go out to all who are affected and especially we pray for those who have lost their lives and for the injured and all their families.
Now more than ever we need to condemn terror and violence whenever and wherever, and by whomsoever it is perpetrated.
We need to pray for peace and we need to work to show that we live in one world, and we all are committed to working together to find a better way to live together.
Still with our minds and hearts going out to all affected by the dreadful fire in North Kensington, we pray for all our emergency services at this time and for wisdom and calm among all in authority.
May God be with all those who are in need on this day,
May the peace of God be with us all as we live our lives this day,
May the love of God reign in all our hearts
And may we know God’s guiding presence in all we do and say.
May God guard us and guide us in our troubled country
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
