Revd Canon Alan Bashforth and Revd Elly Sheard will be teaching the next Windows course in the Cathedral offices.

Beginning on Monday 27th February, ‘Windows into the English Bible’ explores some of the translation issues and events surrounding the sometimes dangerous business of Bible translation that have led us from Hebrew to Greek texts to the Bibles we encounter in English today.

The course is six weeks long and will take place on 27th February, 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th March and 3rd April 2017.

The course will run simultaneously on Mondays either 10am – noon, 2 – 4pm or 7.30 – 9.30pm, including a coffee break.

The cost of the course is £12 and it will be held in the Pearson Room of the Cathedral Office.

Other upcoming events include:

  • The next ‘Open to Question’ evening which will take place on Sunday 19th February at 7pm in the Pearson Room.
  • Truro Theological Society meeting –  On Thursday 23rd March 2017, Revd Magdalen Smith will speak about ‘Reclaiming a Prayerful Life: Inspiration for Contemporary Christians’. The event will start at 7.30pm (7pm arrival) and costs £4 with a complimentary glass of wine or juice.
  • Truro Theological Society meeting – Thursday 18th May, featuring Professor Christopher Southgate, an Associate Professor in Theology at the University of Exeter, who will offer his thoughts on his new book exploring ‘Divine Glory’.
  • Saturday 18th March – Dr Will Lamb will offer insights into the Book of Revelation at St Endellion Church from 10am – 3pm. The event will cost £10 and please bring a picnic lunch.
