Family and friends crammed into St Veep Church this week to enjoy Lerryn School’s nativity play.

Over 70 people, many in costume, joined in the annual event which saw a number of ‘stations’ set up outside of the church to walk those present through the story.

Churchwarden Peter said: “It has been really great to hear the place buzzing with young children and families.”

The children acted out the various scenes including the shepherds watching their flocks, King Herod, the inn keepers and the angels. Everyone then entered the church to see Mary and Joseph arriving at the stable, and join in a rousing rendition of Little Donkey.

The service ended with the Christmas carol O Come, Let Us Adore Him, before a closing blessing and the Lord’s Prayer led by Revd Sheila Bowden.
