The first weekend in July will see the annual Petertide Ordinations take place at Truro Cathedral. group

This year 12 people will be ordained as priests or Deacons by the Bishop of Truro, the Rt Revd Tim Thornton during services on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4.

In the Anglican Church Petertide, also known as St Peter’s Tide, is the major one of two traditional periods for the ordination of new priests and is held on the Sunday nearest to St Peter’s Day.

This year those being made Deacon are:ordinands talking resized

Gary Eve from the St Germans Group of Parishes;
Joachim Paul Winwaloe Foot who will serve in the parishes of St Martin with St Nicholas Looe, the parish of Morval and the parishes of Herodsfoot and of Duloe;
Jane Horton from the parish of Truro, St Mary;
Heather West who will serve in the Three Rivers Benefice.

During the Saturday service, those being ordained priest are:

Terence Axe from the parish of Constantine and the parish of Mawnan;
Angela Brown serving in the parishes of Reduth with Lanner and Treleigh;Lined up
Steven Fletcher from the parishes of Chacewater with St Day and Carharrack, the parishes of St Stithians with Perran-Ar-Worthal and Gwennap, the parish of Devoran and the parish of Feock;
Alison Hardy serving in the parishes of Stratton and Launcells and the parishes of Budehaven and Marhamchurch;
James Hills serving in the parish of St Kea;
Eileen Martin serving in the parishes of the Isles of Scilly;
Claire McIlroy from the parishes of Antony with Sheviock and Torpoint;
Elly Sheard serving in the parishes of Chacewater with St Day and Carharrack, the parishes of making their vowsSt Stithians with Perran-Ar-Worthal and Gwennap, the parish of Devoran and the parish of Feock.
