Bishop Tim has today asked everyone across the diocese to give special attention to those communities affected by the storms lashing Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Speaking in Newquay at a meeting of clergy – some of whom were from the worst affected areas – he urged church communities to look out for those people and businesses who have suffered loss or hardship and to provide practical support and pastoral care.

“There will be immediate needs of food and shelter,” he said. “And then a vital need for ongoing material help and our prayers as they begin to find their feet and rebuild their lives during the coming months.”

Special prayers for individuals and communities affected by flooding.
