DESCRIPTION:The Diocese of Truro’s Mission Forum group\, in partnership with Transformation Cornwall and the NHS Mental Health Chaplains\, are running a day on Faith and Mental Health. \n‘The aim of the day is to raise awareness of faith and mental health\, encouraging people from all over the Diocese (Christian and not) to come and join us in doing so. We intend for the day to promote discussion\, raise issues and for the faith and mental health communities to learn from and listen to each other and promote future work. We also aim to look at ways in which faith can play a part in promoting and supporting positive mental health.’ \nA Day on Faith and Mental Health will be held on Saturday the 5th of October 2019\, at Truro Methodist Church. \nPlease be aware that there are currently only 85 spaces available for the day\, with hope for more closer to the time. SUMMARY:Cornwall Community Flood Forum Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:Cornwall Community Flood Forum will be holding its popular annual conference this year on Friday\, November 2. Once again we’ve secured an engaging line-up of national and local thinkers currently working at the heart of community resilience and climate change. \nThis year’s overarching theme is Natural Capital – that is\, our natural assets including forests\, rivers\, land\, minerals and oceans. We’ll be looking in particular at the elements of natural capital that protect our homes\, livelihoods and wildlife from hazards such as flooding. DESCRIPTION:Following the effectiveness of the Thy Kingdom Come ‘Beacon’ event at the Cathedral last year\, there will again be a large-scale event to which all are welcome. \nThis is at Truro Methodist Church on the afternoon and evening of Sunday 13th May.   \n“Together for God’s Kingdom” will be a flexible and varied program\, which people are welcome to attend some/all of\, as they are able. \nThis will include: \n2-4pm: open air and inside events to attract attention and draw interest – including children’s activities \n2-6pm: stalls in Wesley Hall indicating the work and prayer needs of a wide variety of organisations which work towards the coming of God’s Kingdom \n4-5pm: Songs of Praise service in Truro Methodist Church \n5-6pm: FREE afternoon tea in Wesley Hall (if you are bringing a large group from your church\, you are welcome to bring a plate of something towards the tea) \n6.30-8pm: The main Beacon event: “Together for God’s Kingdom” service of prayer and worship.  Contemporary worship\, opportunities for prayer\, reflections on Luke 4.18-19. \n8-8.30pm: Opportunities to receive prayer ministry and foot-washing \n8.30-9pm: Taize reflective service – sending out to pray and work for God’s Kingdom.

DESCRIPTION:with Revd Andrew Yates \nCornwall sadly has a relatively high level of rough sleeping and homelessness. The church has a long tradition of offering support and practical help to those in this need. \nThe morning of this Study Day will involve attending the quarterly Churches Homelessness Network which brings together church projects and other agencies working in the field for support and updates. In the afternoon there will be opportunities to meet with some of the professionals in the field and a chance to ask questions on appropriate responses to be made by us as ministers. \n Andrew is the Diocesan Social Responsibility Officer and Priest in the Penlee Cluster. \nNote: This event is a joint CMED/IME Phase 2 (curates) session. \n9.30am Coffee and Start\, 4pm Finish. \nClick here to book a place.
