DESCRIPTION:Join us at St Julitta’s Church for an open day on Saturday the 17th of February. This open day will show case the fascinating history and heritage of the church. This includes an illustrated talk at 11:30am and 2pm on Captain Samuel Wallis who was baptised in the church in 1728 and later circumnavigated the world discovering many islands in the pacific. The churches organist will give demonstrations of how amazing the organ can sound and you can view our unusual early pagan symbol that occurs in many places around the church. \nRefreshments and guided tours will be available throughout the day and you will be able to view the rare and exceptional medieval stained glass that has somehow survived and soak up the atmosphere of this historic place with its nearby Holy Well\, iron age rounds and ancient deer park. As part of the Heritage Lottery backed restoration project you will also be able to sign a slate to be incorporated in the new roof for centuries to come! \n \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Following the effectiveness of the Thy Kingdom Come ‘Beacon’ event at the Cathedral last year\, there will again be a large-scale event to which all are welcome. \nThis is at Truro Methodist Church on the afternoon and evening of Sunday 13th May.   \n“Together for God’s Kingdom” will be a flexible and varied program\, which people are welcome to attend some/all of\, as they are able. \nThis will include: \n2-4pm: open air and inside events to attract attention and draw interest – including children’s activities \n2-6pm: stalls in Wesley Hall indicating the work and prayer needs of a wide variety of organisations which work towards the coming of God’s Kingdom \n4-5pm: Songs of Praise service in Truro Methodist Church \n5-6pm: FREE afternoon tea in Wesley Hall (if you are bringing a large group from your church\, you are welcome to bring a plate of something towards the tea) \n6.30-8pm: The main Beacon event: “Together for God’s Kingdom” service of prayer and worship.  Contemporary worship\, opportunities for prayer\, reflections on Luke 4.18-19. \n8-8.30pm: Opportunities to receive prayer ministry and foot-washing \n8.30-9pm: Taize reflective service – sending out to pray and work for God’s Kingdom.
