DESCRIPTION:with Revd Charles Burgess \nChristian leadership is best exercised in community. It isn’t a solo venture\, but involves leading well with others and this includes leading across generations. Gen Y (those born between 1980-2000) are among us. They are different\, and many churches are finding that they don’t seem to lead in the same ways as other generations. This day explains the differences between the generations (Gen Y\, Gen X\, Boomers\, Trads)\, and explores how to attract\, engage and motivate Gen Y in leadership\, for example paid staff such as younger youth workers or curates\, as well as volunteers. \nCharles is a leadership specialist with CPAS. He has many years of practical leadership experience both from a career in the RAF and\, in the last six years\, through his role with CPAS. CPAS currently work with over 20 dioceses in supporting them as they seek to build and strengthen a culture of collaborative leadership\, including developing and enabling vision\, changing culture\, building teams and developing missional leadership. To this end\, Charles facilitates various leadership development events across the UK\, from individual days to longer-term programmes. SUMMARY:Songs of Praise team to visit St Piran's Oratory
DESCRIPTION:The Songs of Praise team will be at St Piran’s Oratory on Saturday 7 February\, filming a service for transmission close to St Piran’s Day. \nThe service will be led by the Revd Caspar Bush and the Bishop of St Germans\, the Rt Revd Chris Goldsmith\, will preach. The Grand Bard of the Cornish Gorsedh\, Maureen Fuller\, will give a reading in Cornish. It is also hoped the Benediction will be sung in Cornish. \nThe service will begin at 2pm. Parking is at Perran Sands Holiday Park. It is a 10-minute walk over uneven dunes from the car park to the oratory\, which is among the oldest Christian buildings in the country. \nIf the weather is wet\, the filming will move to St Piran’s church\, Penhallow. The Revd Caspar Bush said: “People can phone me on 01872 510044 if the weather looks dodgy\, and I’ll make sure there is a message on there telling people the venue. But at the moment the forecast is pretty reasonable.” \nThe show is due to be shown on Sunday 1 March.
