He took particular interest in the architecture of the church and its restoration in the 19th century by J.P. St Aubyn.\nThis talk was originally scheduled for last year\, but postponed due to illness. \nEveryone welcome\nAdmission is free but donations will be accepted towards the upkeep of the church building\, the outhouse and the graveyards. \nTea and coffee and light refreshments will be available for purchase.

DESCRIPTION:Sunday Plus\, the initial training course for Local Worship Leaders is a course intended to give people the skills and knowledge to enable them to confidently lead worship. \nThis eight session course looks at service\, structure\, prayer\, words\, music\, all age worship and how we can create engaging worship for everyone. \nLocal Worship Leaders are recommended by their PCC and incumbent using ‘LWL Recommendation for Training PCC Form’ in the Resources section on the Local Worship Leader page of the diocesan website. \nThere are two courses starting in September 2024: \n                Germoe starting Tuesday 3rd at 7pm\, held fortnightly until 10th December \n                Online using Zoom starting Thursday 5th at 7pm\, held fortnightly until 12thDecember \nLocal Worship Leaders are also required to hold leadership level safeguarding training. \nIf you have any questions or you like to book a place on either course please email Lydia Remick\, Lay Ministries Development Officer.

SUMMARY:Six Hours with Twelve Prophets
DESCRIPTION:At the end of the (English) Old Testament are twelve prophetic books\, commonly called “The Minor Prophets”\, mainly because they are shorter in length than the “major” prophets. Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address is 272 words and lasted two minutes; but it is doubtful whether many people remember a word from Edward Everett’s two-hour speech which preceded it. \nIn this workshop/retreat we will “helicopter” over these twelve books (were they ever intended as one book?)\, observing their main themes and reflecting on their relevance for our lives and work today. \nRev Howard Peskett was Senior Hebrew Scholar of Cambridge University. He is a Cornish bard and the Coordinator of the Cornish Bible Project. He has been a teacher in Singapore\, Bristol and Rural Dean in Penwith. He has spent a lifetime encouraging believers that they can discover for themselves the meaning and wonder of the Bible as they seek to love and follow Christ.

Pupils from 4-14 years explore the significant theological concepts within Christianity as part of developing their wider religious\, theological and cultural literacy. \nJoin this session for an overview of this fantastic teaching resource with details about how it teaches Christianity to children across the different age ranges. We will also explore how the ‘Big Story’ of the Bible is taught in a visual way along with a little taster of some of the inspiring and thought provoking RE lessons that will be delivered in schools using this resource. \nThe session will be led by Nicki Bonell and Felicity Henchley\, LTRE West and Mid Cornwall Primary hub leads.

The focus of our prayers will be the following two days (October 15 and 16) as the CNC seeks to appoint the next Bishop of Truro.
