DESCRIPTION:with Revd Charles Burgess \n All leadership is demanding and burnout is familiar to those exercising leadership in all sorts of contexts. This a two day event which looks at staying fresh and faithful in our leadership roles based on a model for handling pressure\, whilst exploring what drains and sustains us. The event will include exploring issues of call\, expectations and discerning priorities. While clearly\, participants will gain most value from attending both days\, they are designed so that participants may attend either day one or day two only. \nThe second day will identify\, and look at ways to address those  expectations we place on ourselves as well as those others have of us. It will also identify some of the tough realities of leadership and explore the role played  by spiritual disciplines\, lifestyles and friendships\, in building resilience. \nCharles is a leadership specialist with CPAS. He has many years of practical leadership experience both from a career in the RAF and\, in the last six years\, through his role with CPAS. CPAS currently work with over 20 dioceses in supporting them as they seek to build and strengthen a culture of collaborative leadership\, including developing and enabling vision\, changing culture\, building teams and developing missional leadership. To this end\, Charles facilitates various leadership development events across the UK\, from individual days to longer-term programmes. SUMMARY:CMED Course- Moving On
DESCRIPTION:with Revd John Fisher  \nThis day will offer insight into the tricky subject of moving jobs. It will provide some biblical framework to the discernment process and how to make good choices. It will also look at the practicalities of making good applications and handling interviews well. ‘Moving On’ will give Godly space to think about this important subject. \nRevd John Fisher was appointed in 2011 as the CPAS (Church Pastoral Aid Society) patronage secretary.   As well as being an Anglican mission agency\, CPAS is the UK’s leading evangelical patron\, with involvement in appointing new clergy to over 500 parishes. CPAS patronage churches stretch from St Silas in Glasgow to Landewednack in Cornwall\, and include several well known churches such as St Holy Trinity Brompton\, home of the Alpha course. \nJohn served in parish ministry for 15 years following his ordination at Wycliffe Hall. He also has experience as an area dean and UCCF (Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship) travelling secretary. Prior to his appointment as CPAS Patronage Secretary John’s  role was with the Society as a leadership development adviser\, where he was involved in training and supporting clergy\, and helping local churches to be more effective in mission. \nNote: This event is a joint CMED/IME 4-7 (curates) session and is intended for clergy. \n10am Coffee\, 10.30am Start\, 4pm Finish. \nClick here to book a place.
